To say that it’s been an amazing last 12 days would be an understatement. First of all. I know, I know, MAJOR blog neglect. My blog hates me right now. Probably feels jealous of little Jace, since he’s stolen all my attention. And somehow, amidst all the craziness and excitement, Luisa, the one that has to wake up every two hours in the middle of the night to feed our little buddy, and has every reason to be utterly exhausted, has found time to post. TWICE, without me posting once. That’s bad.
But let me back up. 12 days. Becoming a father was by far one of the most amazing and beautiful things that has ever happened to me. Luisa was a champ. As was little Jace. I literally had a giant smile on my face during the whole delivery. One of the happiest moments of my life.
The last 12 days has flown by. It kinda all feels like a blur, and as I hold Jace I can tell he’s already growing and changing and I almost want to rewind the last 12 days to experience it all over again just for fun. Before Jace was born, I started to get a VERY small home baby studio ready. Luisa would probably say I started going a little out of control. Even still, she was amazingly supportive. It’s just that, I have never done baby pictures before. And I REALLY wanted to photograph baby Jace as much as possible. So yes, I may have gone a bit out of control, but it sure has been fun. These first few pictures are Jace when he was 3 days old.

These next ones are Jace at 8 days old. He is going to be so sick of me and the camera by the time he gets older. He was such a sport though. Other than peeing…everywhere. (Side note…no one warned me how much laundry we’d be doing, and how many outfits he’d go through in one day. My absolute favorite thing is when I undress Jace enough to change his diaper, clean him up, put on a new diaper, snap back on the onesie, put back on his little pants, his socks, swaddle him back up, then pick him up only for him to look up at me with a strained face, and INSTANTLY relieves himself in his nice new diaper. What a champ. I swear he giggles at me inside when he does this. Love it!) Anyways, I digress…

Trysha - He’s so precious! Congrats again Perkes Family. You are truly blessed and what a fantastic gift for Jace to have the camera in his face all the time. It really is. They go through stages: they like it, they cheese it up, they hide, they grudgingly oblige occasionally. But they will have wonderful photos of them growing up, tangible memories.
Crissie - NATE AGH! Congratulations. I am so happy for the three of you. He’s perfect and your photos are amazing. That yellow bin is rockin!
