Meet the beautiful couple, Jenn + Jonny. I’ve been so excited for this blog post because, well…they did absolutely awesome! I say this often, but photographing couples like Jennifer and Jonny is the reason I love my job. Shooting their engagements has only made me even more excited to shoot their wedding later this year.

We started along the [flooded] Greenbelt near downtown Boise, and worked our way through a few parks, bridges and eventually up to the Boise Train Depot. Hope you enjoy.

Sam and KC are the exact reason I love shooting engagements. These two are awesome. They’re super in love. They’re both crazy excited for their wedding this year. And they both put full trust in me in letting me capture a piece of their love in a few crazy locations. I love that. They opted to do their engagement shoot in Star, which happens to be one of my favorites places to shoot. The day went perfectly. Well, other than almost getting attacked by a peacock. : )

Wendy + Chris | Boise Idaho Engagement Photos

Meet Wendy and Chris. They’re in love. They’re Rangers fans. And they’re getting married later this year. We had a blast on their engagement shoot. We kicked things off at Memorial Stadium and from there headed out to Star to finish things off. I think they did pretty awesome! Can’t wait to shoot their wedding later this year.

VSCO Cam iPhone App

The awesome folks over at Visual Supply Co. have recently created an iPhone app called VSCO Cam that I’ve been very excited about. I LOVE taking pictures with my iPhone. Who doesn’t, right? And I’ve always loved Instagram. But VSCO Cam was literally just what I was looking for. I’ve only had it for about a week, but I went crazy with it in the airport on a recent trip to Hawaii. In short….I love it. Here are just a few. All shots were taken with an iPhone and edited solely in VSCO cam.

Dylan + Sara | Awesome Photographers

Many of you know a few weeks ago I switched to Canon (blog post on this coming soon). After I got in my new camera, I immediately wanted to test it out before heading out and shooting an engagement session or wedding. Dylan and Sara (who are both incredible photographers) were kind enough to let me photograph them as my first real experiment with my new camera. Since this was a personal shoot, I decided to take them to a location I had always wanted to try. UNDER the freeway. : ) Hope you enjoy. Dylan and Sara were absolutely awesome.

PS…for any tech nerds (like me) these were all taken with the Canon 5d Mark iii.

Madison + Adam | Boise Idaho Engagements

In just over a month, this awesome couple will be getting married in beautiful McCall Idaho. I can’t wait! They did absolutely fantastic on their engagement session. We started at some rather rustic places downtown, and then moved up to the foothills of Boise, where the sunset was gorgeous! Hope you enjoy.

Wow…where to begin with David and Anna. I love coming away from a session completely invigorated with my love for photography. There are certain weddings or engagement sessions that I walk away from, more in love with photography, more in love with what I do, and even more in love with my wife, simply from being able to witness another couple’s love for each other. David and Anna are such an amazing couple. I loved shooting their engagements and can not wait to shoot their wedding later this year. Hope you enjoy what we were able to capture together.

Kelsey + Brad | Boise Engagement Photos

I have always wanted to shoot engagement photos in a library. So when Kelsey, who happens to be a Librarian, told me she wanted to start their engagement session in a Library, I was obviously thrilled! They even brought along some of their favorite books. Afterwards we picked up their cute little dog, and headed to the foothills. Hope you enjoy!

Nicole | Las Vegas Model Shoot

A few weeks ago, while at WPPI in Vegas, a few friends and I decided to do a model shoot out in the desert. I had always dreamed of shooting in a huge dry lake bed, with cracked mud and all. And it didn’t disappoint. It was a BLAST! Nicole was incredible. Hope you enjoy a few of my favorites from the shoot.

Nicole + Ryan | Boise Idaho Engagement Session

This year is the year of engagement photos! And I LOVE it. Roughly 90% of my weddings this year have opted for an engagement session. It is such an important session to me.

First, it allows us to get some truly awesome images before the wedding day, that can be used on announcements, save the dates, wedding websites and/or Facebook etc. But it also means we get to work together before the wedding day, so the bride and groom will be more familiar with how I direct, and how I shoot. Plus they’ll feel even more comfortable in front of the camera, which translates to better and more natural pictures. Win win!

I had such a good time at Nicole and Ryan’s engagement session. I can’t wait to shoot these guys’ wedding later this year. We started in downtown Boise and then made our way to the foothills. Here are a few of my favorites.
