In Costa Rica…LOVING it. Right now, I’m laying in bed, I can hear the ocean….oh…just saw a gecko. He keeps peeking out from behind the tv stand. I’ve been hired by a great company to come down and take pictures of their staff while they vacation here. So they’ve put me up in a rather…

Ken and Jen Perkes - I thought your photos from last year's rodeo couldn't be any better: I was wrong! These are AMAZING! Fun to see what a year has done for you. Check out that last photo: BULL S**T! [Make sure you insert the right letters!]

By the way . . . a cowboy with a HELMET?! What is the world coming to? Seat belts can't be far off! Having said that, YOU must always wear a helmet when you ride bulls! Just so we have that straight.

Sub!

I have a good friend here that is a teacher at a beautiful private art school here in Idaho. The school has only about 100 high school students, and the classes range from music, to dance, to photography, and even your general science, math, and english classes. It’s an INCREDIBLE environment. I felt surrounded by…

Bogus…

I went skiing a few days ago and decided to bring my camera. The conditions were BEAUTIFUL! Fresh powder, blue skies, it was wonderful. There are two decent sized jumps at Bogus Basin here in Idaho so I skied up to them, and took off my skis, and set up shop next to these jumps….

Ken and Jen Perkes - Nate, these are really exciting! Today Mom and I were looking through an older copy of Sports Illustrated that covered the Winter Olympics; we were comparing them to your photos. And I'm here to tell you, these would fit right in! You just keep getting better and better. I couldn't be prouder!!!

Buckley - Nate! These shots are incredible. I hadn't been to your blog for a bit and decided I should stop in. As always your work is breath taking. That picture of Ben is amazing. I love all the off camera flash photos. I don't think that I can ever say enough about your talent. Keep up your great exploring of the world around us and letting us see the world through your lens.

Off Camera Flash!

I’ve been reading “The Hot Shoe Diaries: Big Light From Small Flashes” by Joe McNally, one of my all-time heros in the photography world. I consider him one of the kings of off camera flash. You can check out his website here, or his blog here. Joe is a journalist, a story teller, which is…

Don't stop!

Brian Perkes - These are great. Flashin Joe M. would be proud. I would like to try a little flash work, as well as some light painting. Perhaps at the reunion we could find time to have a little photo shoot.

Your shots just get better and better all the time.
